In January 2016, Youth Champs 4 Mental Health partnered with GLSEN to carry out a National School Climate Survey.  It wasn't until July 2017 that the survey process was finalized and rolled out. The survey gauges the experiences of gender diverse students in schools and the information gathered from this survey assists Youth Champs 4 Mental Health inform education policy makers and the public about the right of all students and educators to be treated with respect in their schools.  A regional consultation was organized to bring in members of LGBT organizations to feedback the process and gauge their interest in joining the survey.

 

5 Regional Organizations (Tonga, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea) are now partners in the research and this is expected to roll out in before February 2018).
